Peter Mohr Dam (born 11 August 1898 – died 8 November 1968) was an important politician from the Faroe Islands. He helped start the Social Democratic Javnaðarflokkurin party in 1926. He served as the Prime Minister of the Faroe Islands twice and was a teacher by profession.

Early Life and Career
Peter Mohr Dam was born on 11 August 1898, in a place called Skopun in the Faroe Islands. He chose to become a teacher and worked in the town of Tvøroyri.
A Long Political Journey
Peter Mohr Dam was involved in politics for a very long time. He was a member of the Faroese Parliament, known as the Løgting, from 1926 until he passed away in 1968. That's a total of 42 years!
Leading the Social Democratic Party
He became the leader, or chairman, of the Social Democratic Javnaðarflokkurin party in 1936. He held this important position until his death in 1968.
Local and National Roles
Peter Mohr Dam also served his local community in Tvøroyri. He was a member of the town council from 1925 until he died. He even served as the mayor of Tvøroyri from 1934 to 1957.
He was also a representative for the Faroe Islands in the Danish Parliament, called the Folketing. He was one of two Faroese members there from 1948 to 1957 and again from 1964 to 1967.
