Peter Joseph Travers (born 1943/1944) is an American film critic and journalist. He is known for reviewing movies for ABC News. Before that, he was a movie critic for People and Rolling Stone magazines. Peter Travers also hosts a show called Popcorn with Peter Travers where he interviews actors and directors.

Early Life and Education
Peter Travers grew up in Yonkers, New York. He was the only child of Howard and Ruth Travers. He went to Manhattan College and earned a degree in 1965. Later, he studied at New York University and got a master's degree in English.
His Work as a Critic
Peter Travers is a very well-known film critic. People often use his short movie reviews, called "blurbs," in newspapers and advertisements. He started writing for Reader's Digest in 1970. In the mid-1970s, he became a film critic for a local newspaper in Yonkers.
In the 1980s, he wrote for People magazine for four years. Then, in 1989, he joined Rolling Stone magazine. He worked there until 2020. After that, he became the main film critic for ABC News.
Travers also hosts the New York Film Critics Series. This group puts on live online events where they show movies and have discussions. He also hosts the ABC News show Popcorn with Peter Travers. On this show, he talks to famous actors and directors about their new movies and their lives.

Peter Travers married Diane Harris in 1967. He later married Robyn Lee Reeves in 1980. Robyn is an actress. Peter Travers has three children named Jennifer, David, and Alex.
