Petersburg is a small community located in Upper Township. It is found in Cape May County, in the state of New Jersey. An "unincorporated community" means it's a place with a name, but it doesn't have its own separate local government. It's part of a larger township.
Petersburg got its first post office in 1856. A person named Peter Corson was the very first postmaster. He was in charge of the mail for the community.
