Phil Mack was born on September 18, 1985, in Victoria, British Columbia. He is a talented rugby union player who played as a scrum-half. Phil played for the Seattle Seawolves in Major League Rugby (MLR). He even coached the Seawolves and helped them win a championship! Phil also played for the Canada national rugby union team. Today, he is an assistant coach for the Pacific Pride rugby team.
Phil went to Oak Bay Secondary School, which has a famous rugby program in his hometown. He also played for the BC Bears in Canada.

Phil's Rugby Journey
Playing for Canada
Phil Mack first played for Team Canada in 2009. He was part of the Canadian team that competed in the 2015 Rugby World Cup. This is a huge international tournament where countries from all over the world play rugby.
In 2020, Phil played his last two games for Canada in the Pacific Nations Cup. His 59th and final game for his country was against South Africa.
Playing in Major League Rugby
In 2018, Phil joined the Seattle Seawolves for the very first season of Major League Rugby. He was a player and also the head coach! He played as the starting scrum-half. His team made history by winning the first-ever MLR Championship Shield. They beat the Glendale Raptors in the final game.
In 2019, Phil continued with the Seawolves. He was still a player, but he also became a full-time backs coach. He helped the team win another championship, making them back-to-back champions!
Coaching Career
After his playing career, Phil continued to coach. In 2020, he started the season as an assistant coach for the Seawolves. However, the season was stopped because of the COVID-19 pandemic. After that, his role with the team changed.
Phil has continued to coach different teams. He has been an assistant coach for the Pacific Pride and later became their head coach. In 2024, he took on a new role as the attack coach for the Canada Sr. Men's team.
Phil's Life Off the Field
Phil Mack is a member of the Toquaht First Nation. He cares a lot about his community. He started a program called Thunder Rugby. This program helps to teach and promote rugby to Indigenous youth on Vancouver Island.
In 2020, Phil and his wife, Becky, welcomed their baby boy, Tate Joseph, into their family.
