How it Started: The History of the Outlets

Work on the Philadelphia Premium Outlets began on September 20, 2006. The main goal was to give people in Montgomery County more places to shop. It also aimed to create new jobs and bring in money for the community.

The outlets officially opened on November 8, 2007. Many people came to visit on opening day. It started with 120 different stores. In April 2008, the shopping center grew even bigger. This expansion added more stores, bringing the total to 150.

In 2017, the Philadelphia Premium Outlets celebrated its 10th birthday! Many new stores have joined over the years. But more than half of the original stores from 2007 are still there today.
