Philippe Bodson started his career working for a big company called McKinsey & Company in Paris. He then worked for a bank, the Daus Bank, in Germany and the United States.

In 1977, he joined a company called Glaverbel. He quickly moved up and became the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) from 1980 to 1989. A CEO is the highest-ranking person in a company, responsible for making all the big decisions.

Later, from 1999 to 2003, he became a senator in the Belgian Senate. This meant he helped make laws for Belgium. He was part of a political group called the Mouvement reformateur.

He was also involved with many other companies, serving on their boards. For example, he was the President of the Board for Exmar. He also helped lead BeCapital, a company that invests in "cleantech," which means technologies that are good for the environment.
