Philo is a small village in Illinois, United States. It is located about nine miles south of Urbana in Champaign County. In 2020, about 1,392 people lived in Philo. The village is sometimes called the "Center of the Universe."

Where is Philo Located?
Philo is found in Champaign County. It is about three miles south of Urbana township. The village is also six miles south of the city of Urbana. Philo covers an area of about 0.83 square miles (2.15 square kilometers). All of this area is land.
The village was named after its founder, Philo Hale. There is a main park in the village called Hale Park. This park is used for many events, including family reunions. It is located on the north side of the village.
