Friedel Pia Lindström (born September 20, 1938) is a Swedish television journalist. She is the first child of the famous actress Ingrid Bergman.

Life and Career

Early Life and Famous Family

Pia Lindström was born in Stockholm, Sweden. Her mother was the movie star Ingrid Bergman, and her father was Dr. Petter Lindström, a brain surgeon.

When Pia was a child, her parents separated. Her mother moved to Italy to work with the Italian director Roberto Rossellini. This was a difficult time for the family, and Pia did not see her mother for several years. They were reunited in 1957.

Pia later gained several half-siblings from her mother's marriage to Roberto Rossellini. These include her twin half-sisters, Isabella Rossellini and Isotta Rossellini.

A Career in Television

Lindström started her career in television as a reporter in San Francisco in 1966. In 1971, she moved to New York City to work for the TV station WCBS-TV.

From 1973 to 1997, she was a well-known face on television in New York. She worked as a news anchor and also reviewed plays and art for the TV station WNBC-TV. For her work, she won two Emmy Awards.

Before becoming a news reporter, Pia also acted in a few movies, mostly in Italy. Some of her films include Marriage Italian Style (1964) and The Queens (1966). She is now retired from her television career.

Personal Life

Pia Lindström has been married three times. From her second marriage, she has two sons named Justin and Nicholas. She is currently married to a lawyer named Jack H. Carley.
