Pia Lindström was born on September 20, 1938, in Stockholm, Sweden. She is a talented Swedish television journalist. Pia is also the first child of the famous actress Ingrid Bergman.

Early Life and Family

Pia Lindström is the only child of Ingrid Bergman and her first husband, Petter Lindström. He was a Swedish brain surgeon. When Pia was young, her mother, Ingrid Bergman, moved to Italy and married director Roberto Rossellini. This was a big change for Pia.

Pia did not see her mother again until 1957. Later, Pia gained some half-siblings. Her half-brother, Roberto Ingmar Rossellini, was born in 1950. In 1952, her twin half-sisters, Isabella Rossellini and Isotta Rossellini, were born.

Career in Television News

Pia Lindström started her career in broadcasting in 1966. She worked as a reporter at KGO-TV in San Francisco. In 1971, she moved to WCBS-TV in New York City.

From 1973 to 1997, Pia was a news anchorwoman at WNBC-TV in New York City. She also worked as a critic, reviewing theater and art. She appeared in some Italian films early in her career, like Marriage Italian Style (1964). Pia Lindström won two Emmy Awards for her news reporting and on-screen work. She also received the Associated Press Broadcaster's Award. Pia is now retired from her broadcasting career.

Personal Life

Pia Lindström has been married three times. She has two sons, Justin and Nicholas Daly, from her second marriage to Joseph Daly. They were married on December 28, 1971. Pia is currently married to attorney John Carley.
