Pierre-Luc Gagnon, often called PLG, is a famous professional skateboarder from Canada. He was born on May 2, 1980, in Boucherville, Quebec. PLG is known for his amazing skills in Vert, Big Air, and Vert Doubles skateboarding.
He started skateboarding in 1988 and entered his very first competition in 1992. Since then, he has become one of the most successful skateboarders in the world.
A Champion Skateboarder
Pierre-Luc Gagnon is a regular competitor at the X Games, which are like the Olympics for extreme sports. He has won many medals there, showing off his talent in different skateboarding styles.
- Vert skateboarding involves riding on a U-shaped ramp called a half-pipe. Skaters perform tricks high above the edge.
- Big Air means launching off a huge ramp to do tricks high in the air.
- Vert Best Trick is a competition where skaters try to do the most impressive single trick on the vert ramp.
PLG has won a total of nineteen medals at the X Games, including nine gold medals! This shows how consistently good he is. He has also won competitions on the Dew Tour and at the Gravity Games.
Amazing Tricks and Wins
PLG is known for his technical and difficult tricks. One of his famous moves is the "nollie heelflip indy 540." This trick combines a flip of the board with a spin in the air.
In 2008, PLG won the Skateboard Vert event at the AST China Invitational in Beijing. He continued his winning streak at the X Games, earning his third gold medal in a row and fifth overall in 2010. Soon after, he won the Maloof Money Cup skateboard vert competition for the second time. He also won the Dew Cup in 2011.
