Pierre Bernard, Jr. is an American graphic designer and comedian. He is best known for his work and funny appearances on the talk shows hosted by Conan O'Brien.

Bernard became famous for a recurring comedy bit called "Pierre Bernard's Recliner of Rage." In these sketches, he would sit in a recliner chair and complain about things that bothered him. His complaints were often about his favorite hobbies, like comic books, anime, and science fiction shows.

From Comic Books to Television

Before working on TV, Pierre Bernard had a career in the world of comic books. He worked as a letterer, which is the person who adds all the words and sound effects to the comic pages. He worked for big companies like Marvel Comics and DC Comics.

Later, he moved into advertising, creating storyboards for magazines and companies. This experience helped him get a job as the graphic designer for Conan O'Brien's talk shows, including Late Night with Conan O'Brien and Conan.

Famous TV Appearances

While working as a designer, Bernard also became an on-screen personality. His most famous role was in his own sketch, "Pierre Bernard's Recliner of Rage."

A Surprise Role on Stargate SG-1

One of Bernard's "Recliner of Rage" segments got him a lot of attention from fans of the science fiction show Stargate SG-1. In the sketch, he complained that the show was better without the character Dr. Daniel Jackson.

The team that made Stargate SG-1 saw the sketch and thought it was funny. They were happy that their show was mentioned on national television. As a thank you, they invited Bernard to appear on an episode. He played a technician named O'Brien, a nod to his boss, Conan O'Brien.

His time on the set was filmed and shown on Late Night. In a funny twist, his character was quickly gotten rid of after greeting Dr. Jackson, the very character he had complained about.

More Stargate Adventures

Bernard's connection to Stargate SG-1 didn't end there. He was invited to a fan convention as a special guest. He even appeared in the show's 200th episode, this time as a zombie version of his character.

When the Sci Fi Network canceled Stargate SG-1, Bernard returned to his "Recliner of Rage" to complain about the decision. Conan O'Brien even had actor Jon Lovitz call the network on his show to jokingly ask them to bring Stargate back.
