Pierre Gage was born in Montreal, Quebec. His family has roots in Haiti and Jamaica. He started his music journey while he was still in high school. He got a part in a famous rock opera called Starmania. This was a big step for him into the world of music.

Gage was inspired by many great musicians. Some of his biggest influences include Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and Lauryn Hill. His family's background from Jamaica and Haiti helped him connect with these artists.

Starting a Music Group

A very important moment for Gage was when he met Corneille and Gardy Martin. Together, they formed an R'n'B group called O.N.E. Corneille was very talented at writing songs and creating music.

Thanks to Corneille's skills, O.N.E.'s song "Zoukin" became a number one hit on Canadian radio. The group then went on tour. They even opened shows for famous singers like Isabelle Boulay and Kelis.

Solo Career Begins

In January 2001, about three years after O.N.E. started, Corneille decided to leave the group to start his own solo career. Gage also decided to go his own way. At first, he focused on acting and theater. But soon, he returned to making music.

Gage and Corneille stayed friends and continued to work together. Gage even opened for Corneille during his tour in 2003. Gage began to find success on his own. His song "Trop Fresh" became very popular and helped him gain many fans.

First Album: Soul Rebel

Gage's first album was called Soul Rebel. It was released in July 2005. Most of the songs on this album were written, composed, and produced by Corneille. The album features a mix of soul and reggae music, showing Gage's diverse musical style.
