How Gage Started in Music
Gage started his music journey in high school. He got a role in the rock opera Starmania after an audition. This was his first big step into music. He was inspired by famous artists like Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, and Lauryn Hill. His Jamaican and Haitian background helped shape his musical style.
Working with Corneille
A big moment for Gage was meeting Corneille and Gardy Martin. They started an R'n'B group called O.N.E. Corneille wrote and composed many songs for the group. Their song "Zoukin" became a number one hit on Canadian radio. The group then went on tour, opening for artists like Isabelle Boulay and Kelis.
In January 2001, Corneille left O.N.E. to start his solo career. Gage also decided to go solo. He first focused on acting and theatre. Later, he returned to making music.
Gage and Corneille kept working together. Gage opened for Corneille during his 2003 tour. Gage started to become successful on his own. His song "Trop Fresh" helped him gain many fans.
