Pike became an official village in 1848. This meant it had its own local government, separate from the larger Town of Pike.
However, in 2008, people in Pike decided to make a change. They voted to end the village's official status. A public vote was held on March 18, 2008, and most people agreed with the idea. The village officially stopped being a village on December 31, 2009.
A historic building in Pike, the First Free Will Baptist Church of Pike, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2012. This means it's recognized as an important historical site.
