Pilar Pellicer, whose full name was María del Pilar Pellicer López de Llergo, was a famous actress from Mexico. She was born on February 12, 1938, and passed away on May 16, 2020. Pilar was known for her amazing acting skills. She even won a special award called the Ariel Award for Best Actress. She received this award at the 17th Ariel Awards for her role in the movie La Choca (1974).

Pilar's Early Life and Career
Pilar was the daughter of César Pellicer Sánchez, a lawyer, and María del Pilar López de Llergo. Both of her parents were from Tabasco, a state in Mexico.
When Pilar was 18 years old, she began studying at the Academy of Contemporary Dance. She was taught by a famous teacher named Seki Sano. Later, Pilar decided to stop dancing. Instead, she went to the National Autonomous University of Mexico to study philosophy. She also studied at the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes y Literatura, which is a well-known arts school. Pilar started her acting career in 1955. Her very first movie was called El vendedor de muñecas.
Pilar's Passing
Pilar Pellicer passed away on May 16, 2020. She was 82 years old. Her death was caused by COVID-19. This happened during the COVID-19 pandemic in Mexico.
