The Odontogomphus donnellyi is a special type of dragonfly known as a pinchtail. It belongs to the Gomphidae family, which includes many different kinds of dragonflies. This amazing insect lives only in one specific place: the rainforest streams of north-eastern Queensland, Australia. When an animal or plant lives only in one small area, it's called endemic.
The pinchtail is a medium-sized dragonfly. It has a slender body with cool black and greenish-yellow markings. It's the only known species in its group, called the Odontogomphus genus. This makes it quite unique!
