A Look Back: Pinebluff's History
Pinebluff was once a very popular vacation spot in the early 1900s. It was even more famous than Pinehurst Resort for a while. Sadly, a big fire that couldn't be stopped caused a lot of damage to the town. After that, Pinebluff became a smaller residential area.
Around 1909, Pinebluff had rules that meant African Americans were not allowed to live or stay overnight in the town. This was a common issue in some towns during that time.
Two important places in Pinebluff are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. These are the Lincoln Park School and the McLeod Family Rural Complex. They are protected because they are important parts of history.
