The Pioneer Park Historical Complex is a special outdoor museum in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, United States. It is sometimes called the Rhinelander Logging Museum or the Rhinelander Schoolhouse Museum. This park is like a trip back in time! It has many old buildings that show what life was like long ago. You can see log cabins from the fur trade era. There are also buildings and stores from the late 1800s.

The museum also has fun displays about the Hodag. The Hodag is a made-up animal. It was first "photographed" in 1896 by a person named Eugene Sheppard. This funny creature has become a mascot for Rhinelander. It is a big part of the town's history and fun stories.

Exploring the Museums at Pioneer Park

Pioneer Park has several interesting museums and exhibits. Each one tells a different story about the past. You can learn about logging, old schools, and even trains.

Civilian Conservation Corps Museum

This museum shows what life was like for young men in the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC). The CCC was a program in the 1930s. It helped people find jobs during a tough time called the Great Depression. Young men worked on projects like building parks and planting trees. This museum has a replica camp building. It looks just like the ones the CCC workers lived in.

Rhinelander Logging Museum

The Rhinelander Logging Museum teaches you about the history of logging. Logging is the process of cutting down trees for wood. This was a very important job in Wisconsin's past. The museum shows how loggers lived and worked. You can see tools they used and learn about the big forests.

Rhinelander Schoolhouse Museum

Step inside the Rhinelander Schoolhouse Museum to see an old school. This museum shows what classrooms were like many years ago. You can imagine what it was like to be a student in the late 1800s. It's a great way to see how schools have changed.

Soo Line Depot and Baldwin 5 Spot Train

The Soo Line Depot is an old train station. A depot is where trains stop and people get on and off. Next to the depot, you can see the Baldwin 5 Spot train. This is a real old train engine. It's a great example of the trains that used to travel through Wisconsin.
