Pisgah is a small, quiet place in West Virginia. It's known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and people living together, but it doesn't have its own official town government. Pisgah is located in Preston County, a beautiful part of the United States.
A Look Back: The History of Pisgah
Pisgah wasn't always called Pisgah! Long ago, this community was known by a different name: Flat Rock.
In 1881, something important happened. The Pisgah Methodist Church opened its doors here. Soon after, a post office and a school were also built in the community. Since these new places all shared the name "Pisgah," the people living in Flat Rock decided to change their community's name too. That's how Flat Rock became Pisgah!
