History of Pitsburg
Pitsburg has an interesting past! It was first started in the 1800s and was called "Arnettsville." For a while, it didn't grow much. An author in 1880 even said it "liv[ed] only in name and story."
However, the community began to grow and thrive over the next few decades. By 1914, Pitsburg had a school and a Methodist church. It also had several businesses and more than 200 residents.
