Plaikni Falls is a beautiful waterfall found inside Crater Lake National Park in Oregon. It's located near Mount Scott in Klamath County. This amazing waterfall drops over a cliff shaped by ancient glaciers. The cliffs around it are made of volcanic ash that turned into rock after Mount Mazama erupted a long, long time ago.

Discovering Plaikni Falls

For a long time, not many people knew about Plaikni Falls. That changed in 2011 when the park built a new trail. This trail made it easy for everyone to visit the waterfall.

The Popular Plaikni Falls Trail

The Plaikni Falls trail quickly became one of the most popular spots along the Crater Lake Rim Drives. It's an easy walk, about 1 mile long. The trail is even friendly for wheelchairs, so many people can enjoy it.

What You See on the Trail

As you walk, you'll be surrounded by tall, old fir and hemlock trees. These forests are full of colorful wildflowers, especially in the warmer months. At the end of the trail, you get a full, clear view of the waterfall as it plunges down.
