A Look Back: Pleasant Hill's History
Pleasant Hill has a long history! It was the first place where white settlers built homes in Lane County. This happened in 1846 when a man named Elijah Bristow arrived. He came with three other people: Eugene Skinner, Captain Felix Scott, and William Dodson. They all claimed land nearby. Later, Eugene Skinner moved on to start what is now the city of Eugene.
Over the years, Pleasant Hill has faced challenges like small floods and house fires. One of the biggest floods happened in 1996. Luckily, no one was hurt, but many homes were damaged.

Pleasant Hill is located in Oregon, about 8 miles (13 km) from a town called Creswell. It sits between two rivers, the Coast Fork Willamette River and the Middle Fork Willamette River.

Students in Pleasant Hill attend public schools within the local school district. The main schools are Pleasant Hill High School and an Elementary School. Due to fewer students and budget issues, Trent Elementary School has closed. There's also a private school called Emerald Christian Academy, which is a Seventh-Day Adventist school for grades K-10.
