Plessey Woods is a fun country park located in Northumberland, England. It sits right next to the River Blyth. You can find it near the village of Hartford Bridge. This village is north of Cramlington and southwest of Bedlington. It's a great place to explore nature!
Discovering Plessey Woods
Plessey Woods Country Park is quite large, covering about 100 acres (or 0.4 square kilometers). This area includes beautiful woodlands, open meadows, and land along the river. There's a main path that goes around these different areas. It's about 1½ miles long. You can also find many smaller paths that branch off from this main loop. These paths let you explore even more of the park's natural beauty.
The Plessey Woods Art Trail
In 2016, a group called Leading Link created a special Art Trail at Plessey Woods. This trail was actually set up by young people! As you walk along the trail, you'll discover cool art. Look out for wooden owls and painted snakes hidden among the trees. There are even tiny "hobbit doors" built into the trees near the river. It's like a treasure hunt for art!
Visitor Information
When you visit Plessey Woods, you'll find a visitor centre. Inside, there are toilets and a small shop. Parking is available on site, but you need to pay for it. This helps keep the park running and beautiful for everyone to enjoy.
