The most famous part of Pleystowe is its Pleystowe Sugar Mill. This mill is where sugar cane is crushed. It turns the cane into raw sugar. This raw sugar is then sent to other places to be made into the sugar we use every day.
A Look Back: Pleystowe's School
Pleystowe once had its own school for local children. Pleystowe Provisional School first opened its doors on April 15, 1896. It later became Pleystowe State School on January 1, 1909. The school helped educate many children in the area before it closed in 1961.
