The Division of Capricornia is an area in Queensland, Australia. It is a special voting district where people choose a representative for the Australian Parliament. This division was one of the first 75 voting areas created when Australia became a country in 1901.
Capricornia gets its name from the Tropic of Capricorn. This is an imaginary line on Earth that passes right through the division. The area covers the city of Rockhampton on the central Queensland coast. It also includes towns like Mount Morgan and Yeppoon, as well as Great Keppel Island.
