Pnina Granirer's Early Life and Journey

Pnina Granirer was born in Romania in 1935. When she was a child in 1944, she faced a very dangerous time. She and other Romanian Jews were about to be sent to special camps during World War II. Luckily, her life was saved. The Red Army pushed out the Nazi German forces, which stopped the transport.

After the war, Pnina's family moved to Israel. This move is called Aliyah, which means Jewish people moving to Israel. In Israel, she studied art at the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. After finishing her studies, she moved to Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada in 1965.
