Pol is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the province of Lugo. This area is part of Galicia, which is an autonomous community in northwestern Spain. The main town, or capital, of Pol is called Mosteiro.
History of Pol
Pol has an interesting history, especially because of its connection to people from Britain. During a time known as the Dark Ages, which was many centuries ago, some British immigrants arrived in Galicia. Pol is historically linked to these early settlers. One important figure from that time was Bishop Maeloc, who was connected to a place called Britonia.
