A Look Back: Ponder's History

The town of Ponder got its name from the local Ponder family, who were early settlers in the area.

There's a fun local story about the famous outlaws, Bonnie and Clyde. People say they either tried to rob the Ponder State Bank or actually robbed it. The legend claims they found the bank had already run out of money the week before! However, this story isn't found in the official records of the Barrow Gang's activities. Another person named Eddie Bentz, who was also a bank robber, might have been involved in a real robbery there instead.
