Popham Beach facts for kids
Popham Beach is a beautiful sandy beach in Maine. It stretches for about three miles, starting from Fort Popham near the Kennebec River. The beach goes all the way to the Morse River. This area is close to where the Popham Colony was built in 1607. That colony was one of the first English settlements in North America, but it only lasted for about a year. Popham Beach is part of the town of Phippsburg in Sagadahoc County.
