Pozzomaggiore (which is called Puthumajore in the local Sardinian language) is a small town, also known as a comune (municipality). It is located in the Province of Sassari on the island of Sardinia, which is part of Italy.
This town is about 140 kilometers (87 miles) northwest of Cagliari, a major city in Sardinia. It is also about 40 kilometers (25 miles) south of Sassari, another important city. As of December 31, 2004, about 2,871 people lived in Pozzomaggiore. The town covers an area of 79.4 square kilometers (30.7 square miles).
Pozzomaggiore shares its borders with several other towns. These include Bosa, Cossoine, Mara, Padria, Semestene, Sindia, and Suni.
