Where is Prairietown Located?
Prairietown is in the northern part of Madison County. It is about 8 miles (13 km) southwest of a town called Staunton. It's also about 17 miles (27 km) east-northeast of Alton. If you travel northeast for about 33 miles (53 km), you will reach St. Louis.
