Who Was Praudha Raya?

Praudha Raya was a ruler of the Vijayanagara Empire, a large and important kingdom in South India. He belonged to the Sangama dynasty, which was the first family to rule this empire. The Vijayanagara Empire was known for its rich culture, strong armies, and beautiful temples.

His Short Time as Emperor

Praudha Raya's rule was very brief, lasting only a short period in 1485 CE. He followed his father, Virupaksha Raya II, as emperor. However, his time on the throne was quickly ended by one of his own military leaders.
