Pravia is a small town and a larger area called a municipality in Spain. It is located in the region of Asturias, which is also known as the Principality of Asturias. This area is in the northwest part of Spain.
Pravia is surrounded by other towns and areas. To the north, it borders Cudillero and Muros de Nalón. To the east, you'll find Candamo and Soto del Barco. On the west side, it's next to Cudillero and Salas, and to the south, it borders Candamo and Salas.
Pravia has an interesting history! For a while, it was the capital city of the kingdom of Asturias. This was from the year 774, when King Silo made it his main court, until the time of King Alfonso II.
