How Laws Are Made Official

When a new law is passed by the Parliament, the President of Montenegro has a role in making it official. The President must announce the law within seven days of it being passed. If the law was passed very quickly, they must announce it within three days.

The President can also send a law back to the Parliament. This means they want the Parliament to think about it again and make a new decision. If the Parliament passes the law again, the President must then announce it.
