Understanding Presidential Term Limits
In Mozambique, a president can only serve for a certain amount of time. This is called a "term limit." As of 2021, the Constitution of Mozambique says that a president can serve for two terms. Each term lasts for five years. This rule helps make sure that power is shared and that new leaders can be chosen.
