Prince François of Monaco (full name: François Charles Grimaldi; born February 4, 1726 – died December 9, 1743) was a prince from Monaco. He was a member of the House of Grimaldi, which is the ruling family of Monaco. He was also known by his special title, the Count of Thorigny.
Early Life of Prince François
Prince François Charles Grimaldi was born in Paris, France. His birthplace was a grand building called the Hôtel Matignon. He was the eighth child of Princess Louise Hippolyte of Monaco and her husband, Prince Jacques I.
His father, Prince Jacques I, held the title of Count of Thorigny. However, this title was later given to young François.
Family and Succession
François had an older brother named Honoré III. Honoré III would later become the next Prince of Monacao after their father passed away in 1751.
Prince François lived a short life. He passed away on December 9, 1743, when he was only 17 years old. He never married and did not have any children.
