Prince Frederick William of Great Britain (born May 13, 1750 – died December 29, 1765) was a young prince. He was a grandson of King George II. He was also the youngest brother of King George III. His parents were Frederick, Prince of Wales and Princess Augusta of Saxe-Gotha.
Sadly, Prince Frederick William died when he was only 15 years old. He was laid to rest at Westminster Abbey in London.
Life of Prince Frederick William
Frederick was born on May 13, 1750. His birthplace was Leicester House in Westminster, London. His father was Frederick, Prince of Wales. He was the oldest son of King George II. Frederick's mother was Princess Augusta of Saxe-Gotha.
He was christened (given a Christian name) on June 17, 1750. This special ceremony took place at the same house where he was born. The Bishop of Oxford, Thomas Secker, led the christening. His godparents were his older brother Prince George, his uncle Prince Wilhelm of Saxe-Gotha-Altenburg, and his sister Princess Augusta.
The young prince passed away on December 29, 1765. He was still at Leicester House when he died.
