Prince Sverre Magnus of Norway was born on 3 December 2005. He is the younger child of Crown Prince Haakon and Crown Princess Mette-Marit. He is third in line to become the next king or queen of Norway, after his father and his older sister, Princess Ingrid Alexandra.

Early Life and School
Prince Sverre Magnus was born in Oslo, Norway, at The National Hospital. This is the same hospital where his older sister, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, was born a year earlier. He was christened (baptized) in the chapel of the Royal Palace in Oslo on 4 March 2006.
On 18 August 2011, Sverre Magnus started at Jansløkka elementary school. This is a local public school that his older sister and half-brother also attended. On 17 June 2014, the Norwegian Royal Family announced that Sverre Magnus would move to a private Montessori school in Oslo. He stayed there until 2021.
In the autumn of 2021, Sverre Magnus began attending Elvebakken Upper Secondary School in Oslo. This is the same high school his older sister, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, went to. He studied Information Technology and Media Production there. He finished school on 18 June 2024.
Hobbies and Interests
Prince Sverre Magnus is known for doing the "dab" dance move. He did this on the balcony of the Royal Palace while with his family, including his grandfather King Harald V. He did it without being asked!
Prince Sverre Magnus enjoys skiing and biking. He especially likes BMX biking and cross-country biking. He also loves water sports, especially surfing, just like the rest of his family. His favorite sport is skiing, which he shared in an interview for his 18th birthday.
Royal Role and Succession
The rules for who becomes king or queen of Norway changed in 1990. This change means that the oldest child, whether a boy or a girl, will inherit the crown. However, Crown Prince Haakon stayed ahead of his older sister, Princess Märtha Louise.
This new rule first applied to the children of Crown Prince Haakon. This means that Sverre Magnus does not rank above his older sister, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, even though he is a boy. Under the old rules, he would have.
Prince Sverre Magnus is third in the line of succession to the Norwegian throne. This means he is third in line to become the next ruler, after his father and his older sister. He is a member of the Royal Family. However, he is not part of the "Royal House," which only includes his grandparents, parents, and older sister.
