Growing Up and School
Prince Sverre Magnus was born at The National Hospital in Oslo, Norway. His older sister, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, was born there a year before him. He was baptized in the chapel of the Royal Palace in Oslo on March 4, 2006.
He started at Jansløkka Elementary School on August 18, 2011. This was a local public school that his older sister and half-brother also attended. In June 2014, the Norwegian Royal Family announced that Sverre Magnus would move to Oslo's private Montessori school. He studied there until 2021.
In the autumn of 2021, Prince Sverre Magnus began attending Elvebakken Upper Secondary School in Oslo. This is the same school his older sister, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, went to. He studied Information Technology and Media Production. He successfully graduated from high school on June 18, 2024.

Prince Sverre Magnus is known for his fun personality. He once did a "dab" dance move on the balcony of the Royal Palace during a public appearance. His grandfather, King Harald V, was also there.
He really enjoys skiing and biking, especially BMX and cross-country biking. He also loves water sports, like surfing, which he shares with his family. His favorite sport, as shared by his sister, is skiing.
Personal Life
Prince Sverre Magnus has been in a relationship with Amalie Giæver MacLeod since at least 2024.
Royal Role and Succession
The rules for who becomes king or queen of Norway changed in 1990. This change meant that the oldest child, whether a boy or a girl, would inherit the crown. However, Crown Prince Haakon remained ahead of his older sister, Princess Märtha Louise.
This new rule first applied to the children of Crown Prince Haakon. This means that Prince Sverre Magnus is not ahead of his older sister, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, even though he is a boy. If the old rules were still in place, he would have been.
Prince Sverre Magnus is currently third in line to the Norwegian throne. He is a member of the Royal Family. However, he is not part of the "Royal House," which includes only his grandparents, parents, and older sister.
