Princess Anna Maria Maximiliane Stephania Karoline Johanna Luisa Xaveria Nepomucena Aloysia Benedicta of Saxony was a royal princess. She was born on January 4, 1836, in Dresden, which was part of the Kingdom of Saxony at the time. Her parents were John of Saxony and Amalie Auguste of Bavaria.

Anna was the seventh child in her family. She had many brothers and sisters, including Albert of Saxony and George of Saxony. When she married Archduke Ferdinand, she became a member of the House of Habsburg-Lorraine. This made her an Archduchess and Princess of Austria. She was also a princess of Hungary, Croatia, Bohemia, and Tuscany. Sadly, Princess Anna passed away on February 10, 1859, in Naples, before her husband became the Grand Duke of Tuscany.

Anna's Family Life

Princess Anna married Archduke Ferdinand on November 24, 1856. The wedding took place in Dresden. Ferdinand was the oldest son of Leopold II, Grand Duke of Tuscany.

Anna and Ferdinand had two children together:

  • Archduchess Maria Antonietta was born in Florence on January 10, 1858. She passed away in Cannes on April 13, 1883.
  • They also had a stillborn daughter in 1859.
