Early Life and Learning
Princess Lalla Amina was born in Antsirabe, Madagascar, on April 8, 1954. She was the youngest sister of King Hassan II of Morocco. Her parents were King Mohammed V of Morocco and his third wife, Lalla Bahia bint Antar. She was born while her family was living away from Morocco.
Lalla Amina was often called "Mina" by her family. She was the only child of King Mohammed V to have French papers. She was named after her father's younger sister, who was also called Lalla Amina. When the royal family returned to Morocco, a girl named Malika Oufkir became a companion to the princess.
Lalla Amina lived in her own special villa. This was so she could grow up more normally, away from the busy royal court. Her villa even had a private movie theater, a small zoo, and her own primary school. She later attended the Royal College and then the University of Rabat, where she studied philosophy.
Her Family Life
In 1974, Princess Lalla Amina married a doctor named Sharif Moulay Idris Al Wazani. They had one daughter, Sharifa Lalla Sumaya Al Wazani. Sadly, her husband passed away in 1999. After this, Lalla Amina focused even more on her true passion: horses.

In October 1975, Lalla Amina became the godmother of a patrol boat named El Jail, which means "Wanderer" in Arabic. The boat was even blessed with holy water from Mecca. In 1980, she started her own horse breeding stable in Sidi Brini. She also began the famous "Week of the Horse" event held in Rabat.
Besides her love for horses, Princess Lalla Amina was also the Chairwoman of Special Olympics Morocco. She was also a member of the Special Olympics Board of Directors.
