Princeton was officially started in the year 1886. It is believed that the community was named after Princeton, New Jersey.
A post office was opened in Princeton during the same year, 1886. This post office served the community for many years. It finally closed down in 1959.
People of Princeton
Princeton is also known as the birthplace of Leon Francis Riley Sr. He was the father of famous basketball coach Pat Riley. Leon Riley Sr. played baseball in the minor leagues for many years.
