The Pristimantis buckleyi is a type of frog. It belongs to the Strabomantidae family. You can find this frog in the Andes mountains. Specifically, it lives in parts of Colombia and Ecuador.

This frog lives at high elevations. It can be found between 2,500 and 3,700 meters (about 8,200 to 12,100 feet) above sea level. The frog was named after Mr. Buckley. He was the person who first collected these frogs in Ecuador.

The Pristimantis buckleyi is a common frog. It lives in many different places. You can find it in both old and new forests. It also lives at the edges of forests.

These frogs like areas with bushes, called sub-páramo bush land. They also live in páramo areas. Páramo is a special type of grassland found in the Andes. You might also see them in open fields and even on farms.

What the Buckley's Rain Frog Looks Like

These frogs have different sizes depending on if they are male or female. Male frogs are smaller. They are usually about 24 to 39 millimeters long. This is from their snout (nose) to their vent (tail end).

Female frogs are larger. They measure about 37 to 49 millimeters long. Male frogs also have longer back legs than females.
