Prosper is a small, unincorporated community in Cass County, North Dakota. An unincorporated community means it's a place where people live, but it doesn't have its own separate local government like a city or town. Instead, it's governed by the county.
History of Prosper
Prosper began to grow in 1911. This was the year a railroad line was built and extended to reach this area. Railroads were very important back then for travel and moving goods.
Just two years later, in 1913, a post office was opened in Prosper. This post office was a key part of the community. It helped people send and receive letters and packages. The post office served the community for many years. It finally closed its doors in 1968.
