Pryor (which is called Baáhpuuo in the Crow language) is a small community in Big Horn County, Montana, United States. It's a special kind of place called a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's a community that the government counts for population, but it's not officially a city or town.
Pryor is located on the Crow Tribe's reservation. In 2020, about 637 people lived here. The area is named after Nathaniel Hale Pryor, who was a sergeant on the famous Lewis and Clark Expedition.
The first post office in Pryor opened in 1892. A railroad line was built through the valley in 1900 by the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad. Pryor is also home to Chief Plenty Coups State Park. This park honors Chief Plenty Coups, a very important leader of the Crow people.
