Pseudagrion is a large group of colorful insects called damselflies. They are like tiny, graceful helicopters with long bodies and delicate wings. These damselflies belong to a family called Coenagrionidae. There are more than 140 different kinds, or species, of Pseudagrion damselflies!

They live in many parts of the world. You can find them across most of Africa, a big part of Asia, and even in Australia. Africa is home to the most types, with nearly 100 different species.

These amazing insects can live in all sorts of freshwater places. They are found everywhere from desert pools to steamy rainforests and cool mountain streams. They are often the most common damselflies in these watery homes.

Where They Live

Pseudagrion damselflies are found in many different watery places. In Africa, there are two main groups. One group prefers cooler, higher places like mountains. The other group mostly lives in warmer, lower areas. There is also a special group of 31 species that live only in the forest streams of Madagascar and the Comoros islands.
