Pueblos Patrimonio facts for kids
The Red Turística de Pueblos Patrimonio (which means "Tourism Network of Heritage Towns") is a special project in Colombia. It was started by Colombia's Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism, with help from the Ministry of Culture. The National Tourism Foundation (FONTUR) helps manage it.
This program wants to make certain small and medium-sized towns popular for tourism. These towns are chosen because they show important parts of Colombia's history and culture. The goal is to help these communities grow in a way that lasts, by bringing visitors to their unique places.
Towns become "Pueblos Patrimonio" if they have special architecture, history, or natural beauty. They also need a unique cultural identity. This makes them great places for people to visit and learn about Colombia's heritage.
The network began in 2010 with 11 towns. By March 1, 2021, there were 18 "Pueblos Patrimonio" towns. They are spread across 12 of Colombia's 32 departments.

What are Heritage Towns?
Heritage Towns are places that have been officially recognized as "Cultural Heritage Assets" by Colombia. This means they are very important for the country's history and culture. They are chosen for their special buildings, historical stories, and beautiful surroundings. Each town also has its own unique traditions and way of life.
