Puerto Rico is a city in the Misiones Province of Argentina. It is the main city of the Libertador General San Martín area.
This city is located right next to the Paraná River. To its south, it shares a border with the city of Capioví. To the east and north, it borders Garuhapé. On its western side, it is next to Paraguay.
Puerto Rico is in a great spot along Route 12. It is about halfway between the famous Iguazu Falls and Posadas, which is the capital city of the Misiones province.

Around 20,000 people live in Puerto Rico. Many of these residents are descendants of European immigrants.
Languages Spoken
In this region of Misiones, people speak a special language called Riograndenser Hunsrückisch. This is a German dialect that has been around for nearly 200 years.
It started in a nearby state in Brazil called Rio Grande do Sul. People brought this language to Misiones when they first settled here. It is still spoken as a minority language today.
