Pukka Pies is a family company that started in 1963. It was founded by Trevor Storer and Valerie Storer. At first, it was called "Trevor Storer's Home Made Pies." The name "Pukka Pies" was chosen in 1964.
Today, the company is simply called Pukka. Trevor and Valerie's sons, Tim and Andrew, now run the business. The bakery in Syston is very busy. About 360 people work there. They make an amazing 180,000 pies and pasties every single day!
Pukka Pies and Sports
Pukka Pies has a long history with sports. The first sports place to sell Pukka Pies was Millmoor. This was the home stadium of Rotherham United FC. Fans of Rotherham United are known for eating a lot of pies. They hold the record for eating 40% more pies than the average football fan!
Pukka Pies Sponsorships
Pukka Pies likes to support different events and teams. The main stand at Boundary Park, which is home to Oldham Athletic AFC, is called the Pukka Pies stand. The main stand at New York Stadium, home of Rotherham, is also named the Pukka Pies stand.
