Punnala is a small village in the Kollam district of Kerala, India. It is about 8 kilometers away from both Pathanapuram and Punalur. The village is also just 1 kilometer from Chachipunna.

Punnala is part of the Pathanapuram Taluk. It belongs to the Pathanapuram Assembly Constituency and the Mavelikkara Parliament Constituency. It is also part of the Piravanthoor Grama Panchayth, Pathanapuram Block Panchayat, and Kollam district Panchayat.

The St. Mary Orthodox Church is located in Punnala. This church is part of the Adoor-Kadampanad Diocese of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church.

People believe that Punnala was home to a settled community a long time ago. However, this settlement might have been destroyed, perhaps by an attack.
