Punta Sal is a beautiful village located right on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. You can find it in the Tumbes region in northern Peru.
This area is special because it's close to the equator. This means the ocean water around Punta Sal is warmed by a current called El Niño. This makes the local weather warm and sunny! Punta Sal is famous for its wide beaches with light-colored sand and warm, blue water. It's a very popular place for people to visit and enjoy the beach.

Discover Punta Sal's Beaches
Punta Sal is known for having the longest beach on the northern coast of Peru. It stretches for about 6.5 kilometers (that's over 4 miles!). This long beach is split into two main parts:
Punta Sal Chica: A Cozy Cove
Punta Sal Chica means "Little Punta Sal." This part of the beach has a gentle curve and is tucked between two small rocky points. The sand here is very white, making the water look even bluer!
Punta Sal Grande: The Long Stretch
Punta Sal Grande means "Big Punta Sal." This section is much longer than Punta Sal Chica. The sand here is still beautiful, but it might not be as bright white as in Punta Sal Chica.
The water temperature at Punta Sal stays warm all year round, usually around 24 degrees Celsius (about 75 degrees Fahrenheit). The ocean here is also very calm, which makes it perfect for swimming and playing in the water any time of the year.
