Purple Springs is a small community in southern Alberta, Canada. It is called a hamlet. You can find it on Highway 3. It is about 17 kilometers (11 miles) east of the town of Taber.

A Look at Its Past
Purple Springs has an interesting history. In 1957, the government created the Purple Springs Grazing Reserve nearby. This reserve is a large area of land. It covers about 6,684 acres (27 square kilometers). It was special because it was the very first grazing reserve in Alberta that used irrigation. This means they watered the land to help plants grow for animals to eat.
