Quebracho is a small town, also called a villa, located in the Paysandú Department in Uruguay. It's a quiet place with a friendly community.

Where is Quebracho Located?

Quebracho is about 52 kilometers (around 32 miles) north-northeast of Paysandú, which is the capital city of the department. You can find it by taking a road that branches off Route 3 and heads west for about 5 kilometers (3 miles). A railroad track that connects Salto and Paysandú also runs right through the town.

How Quebracho Grew into a Town

Quebracho has grown quite a bit over the years! On August 20, 1947, it was officially recognized as a "Pueblo," which means a village. Before that, it was just a small group of buildings. Later, on October 15, 1963, its status was upgraded again to "Villa," meaning it became a town. This shows how Quebracho developed and became more important over time.
